There is a one-time fee per release, based on how many tracks there are on your release. Details of our pricing can be found from the Prices page.
Yes! You grant EmuBands a non-exclusive license to distribute your release(s) to the retailers you select.
There is no catch! We started in 2005 to help artists reach the digital marketplace, and this continues to be the basis for everything we do – a simple-to-use and artist-friendly service with dedicated support should you ever need it.
Over the years we have been lucky enough to work with thousands of artists from all over the World, including Glasvegas, Gengahr, Twin Atlantic, Pryda, Sunset Sons, Eliza and the Bear, Dope Lemon, Kita Alexander, and more.
We have distributed 12 top-40 singles, including 2015’s Christmas Number 1 by the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir.
We’re here to help you whenever you should need it. You will be assigned a named account manager, who will be in touch by e-mail shortly after you create your account, and our general contact information is on the right hand side of this page.
ADDING A RELEASE TO YOUR ACCOUNT:
Once you have logged in to your EmuBands account, just click on ‘Add A New Release’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
At the standard rate of £49.95, up to 20 tracks. It’s fine to add more than 20 tracks, but the cost will increase.
These are unique identifiers – an ISRC identifies a track, and a UPC identifies a bundle. These are required for every release, but don’t worry if you don’t already have them, as we can assign them free of charge. If you want us to assign them, just leave these fields blank when you add your release to your EmuBands account.
Once we have received your audio files, artwork file and payment, your release will start to appear in stores usually within 48 hours. However, different stores have different processing times, and some can take a little bit longer.
Yes, this is one of the fields you are asked to complete when adding a release to your account. If you select a release date in the future, your release will become available on that date, as long as the retailer has completed processing it by then. If you select a release date in the past, each retailer will publish your release as and when they have completed processing it.
Yes, just enter the pre-order start date you’d prefer when adding your release to your account. NB some retailers will automatically make your release available for pre-order once they have processed it.
Retail pricing is generally at the discretion of the retailer, however there is some degree of flexibility on certain stores. You can select one of three ‘price tiers’ when adding your release to your account (Premium, Standard, and Discounted), and we will match this to the relevant price tier on stores that allow variable pricing.
By default, your release will be available Worldwide. However, you can select individual countries to include or exclude as part of the process when you add your release to your account.
SUBMITTING AUDIO & ARTWORK:
Once you have completed payment for your release, you will redirected to the Uploads page, where you simply select your chosen file for each track, and upload the WAV file. Please ensure that your WAV files are 16-bit (sample size), 44.1kHz (sample rate) and 1411 kbps (bit rate).
If your files are unmastered, we can highly recommend Alchemy Mastering – just click on the ‘Mastering’ menu item once you are logged in to your account for more information.
Once you have completed payment for your release, you will redirected to the Uploads page, where you simply select your chosen artwork file, and upload it. Please ensure your artwork file is in JPEG format, is at least 3000×3000 pixels (must be square), and is in RGB colour mode.
NB – you may not include e-mail addresses, URLs, any other contact information or any pricing information on the artwork. We will check over each file prior to distribution and will be in touch if there are any problems.
CHANGES TO MY RELEASE & TAKEDOWNS:
There are certain aspects of a release that unfortunately cannot be edited once it has been distributed – for example, ISRCs, UPCs and the running order. Should you wish to make any other changes, however, please just either open a support ticket through your EmuBands account, or contact your account manager.
Please note that there will be a £10 charge for changes made to a release that has already been distributed, but you can make multiple changes at one time within that charge.
If you wish your release to be removed from sale, please just either open a support ticket through your EmuBands account, or contact your account manager. There are no charges for takedowns.
We will pass on to you 100% of what we receive from each retailer for sales of your music. You can see a guideline to each service and its royalty rates when adding a release to your account, by clicking the ‘more information’ link on the ‘Add Contracts’ page.
Each service varies in the time it takes to report sales. You can expect to start seeing sales reported around 4 to 5 weeks after each calendar month. You will receive an e-mail from us each time new reports have been uploaded to the royalties system, however, please note that receiving this e-mail does not necessarily mean that you have generated royalties. Each of these e-mails will detail the retailer and time period covered by the latest update.
Once you have generated royalties, you can request payment at any time by logging into your account, browsing to the royalties section, clicking on the payment request link and entering the details required. We can pay royalties by either BACS (to a UK bank account, subject to a £1 admin charge), by Transferwise (to a non-UK bank account) or by PayPal.
Some services provide more frequent sales data, so you don’t have to wait on the full royalty report to see how many copies of your release you have sold. These reports can also contain more information not included in your royalty report, such as the purchaser’s post / zip code, so can be very useful in assessing local promotional activities.
Please note, however, that we will only pay royalties based on the full Royalties Report, as occasionally a ‘sale’ appearing in the Trend Report may not result in a completed transaction, if, for example, the customer’s payment were to fail.
Just log in to your account and browse to the Trends section.
