From Glasgow to Global: Celebrating 20 Years of EmuBands

This year, we’re celebrating 20 years of EmuBands.
Back in 2005, we started out in Glasgow with one goal: to make it easier for independent artists to get their music out into the world, without giving up their control or royalties. Twenty years later, that goal hasn’t changed.
From Then to Now
When we began, digital distribution meant sending your music to iTunes. Streaming didn’t exist yet, and the world of DIY distribution (at least in a digital sense) was still finding its footing. Since then, everything about how people make, release, and listen to music has evolved… but our values have stayed the same.
We’re still fully independent and still built for independent artists. That independence means we can do things our way: keeping pricing fair, keeping royalties 100% yours, and keeping support human.

Real Support. Real People. Real Music.
Every release we deliver, every email query we answer, and every update we make happens in-house by our team in Glasgow. No faceless systems, no bots, no outsourced support. Just real people who care about getting things right for artists.
Whether you’re releasing your first single or managing a catalogue, we’re here to help you share your music with the world, on your own terms.
A Night to Remember
We marked our 20th birthday with a proper celebration at home in Glasgow with friends, family, artists, and partners who’ve been part of our journey. Huge thanks to Cameron Brisbane for the photos, and to Brewgooder, Malone’s, The Skinny, and Vic Galloway for helping make it such a great night.

Looking Forward
The music world will keep changing. New platforms, new tech, new ways to release. But what won’t change is why we’re here: to make sure independent artists have a fair, transparent, and trusted partner by their side. Here’s to the next 20 years of independence, creativity, and real music.
