Spotify Discovery Mode – April 2026 Update

Spotify is making an update to Discovery Mode that may impact some existing campaigns. If you haven’t accepted the latest Terms & Conditions introduced in September 2025, your campaign won’t continue past the end of April.
The fix is simple. Head into Spotify for Artists, accept the updated terms, and resubmit your campaign. There’s no need to change any of your settings.
From 30th April, any campaigns still on the older terms will be cancelled and won’t roll over into May. This ties into Spotify’s newer song-level opt-in feature, which requires all campaigns to be aligned with the updated terms to remain active.
What do I need to do?
To keep your campaign running without interruption, review and accept the updated Terms then resubmit your Discovery Mode campaign. Deadline: April 29 2026.
If you don’t resubmit your campaign by 29th April, your campaign will not renew for May, your Discovery Mode activity will stop on 30th April, 2026.
Do I need to change anything in my campaign?
No. You don’t need to edit your campaign settings. You can simply go through the setup flow again and accept the updated Terms.
How do I accept the new Terms & Conditions?
Follow these steps in Spotify for Artists:
- Go to the “Campaigns” tab
- Open Discovery Mode
- Step through the campaign setup process
- On the “Confirm Campaign” step, accept the updated Terms
- Submit your campaign
Will this affect all artists?
Only artists with existing Discovery Mode campaigns that haven’t been updated since September 2025 are affected. Some artists may not need to take action if they’ve already accepted the latest Terms.
