EmuBands Now Delivers Lossless and Hi-Res Audio to Spotify
On 10th September 2025, Spotify officially enabled lossless streaming on its platform, allowing listeners to enjoy music in up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz.
We’re pleased to confirm that EmuBands now delivers lossless audio to Spotify as standard. This means that from today, any release distributed through EmuBands will automatically appear on Spotify in lossless quality, giving your fans the best possible listening experience.
Spotify’s official newsroom confirms the launch: “Lossless Listening Arrives on Spotify Premium With a Richer, More Detailed Listening Experience” (September 10, 2025). Premium subscribers will receive in-app notifications to enable Lossless via Media Quality settings, and a visual indicator appears during playback. Supported on devices including mobile, desktop, and Spotify Connect-enabled hardware like Sony, Bose, Samsung, and Sennheiser – with Sonos and Amazon devices following soon.
For artists and labels on our Pro and Premium plans, we can now also deliver Hi-Res audio (24-bit) to Spotify, as an added benefit.
Here’s how it works:
– New releases: If you select the Hi-Res delivery add-on at upload, your 24-bit audio will go to Spotify (alongside all existing Hi-Res stores).
– Existing releases (non-Hi-Res): If you update to Hi-Res, Spotify will now receive the new 24-bit audio, along with the other Hi-Res stores.
– Existing Hi-Res releases: These will need an update to deliver the 24-bit files to Spotify. There is no additional charge for this, you’ll just need to either email your account manager, or message us on Live Chat to request it.
– Standard releases (16-bit/44.1kHz): These will still appear as lossless on Spotify, thanks to our standard lossless delivery.
Spotify’s press release mentions playback “up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz”. However, their tech specs also confirm support for higher sample rates (“24-bit 2-channel with a 44.1kHz or higher sample rate”). EmuBands accepts higher sample rates and will deliver them to Spotify as provided.
This update ensures that your music, whether distributed in standard or Hi-Res, is now available on Spotify in the highest possible quality.
