There is no minimum payment threshold at EmuBands. This means you’re able to request a payment from us at any time, regardless of the amount of money held within your EmuBands account. We make payments twice per week – so depending on when you make the request, we’ll pay you on the following Tuesday or Friday, whichever is soonest.
IMPORTANT: In order to pay you, we need invoices from you. This is done via a Self-Billing procedure – therefore, you need to have an active Self-Billing Agreement in place before we will make payments to you. To complete this agreement, just log in to your EmuBands account, click on My Account -> Tax & Self-Billing and complete the form.
If you have an active self-billing agreement in place, then self-billing invoices are created for you each time royalty reports are uploaded (this usually happens on the first and third Fridays of each month). Your first self-billing invoice will be created the next time royalties are reported AFTER you first create your self-billing agreement. At this point, you will see your balance increase.
These agreements need to be renewed every year, and if your circumstances change during the year you can simply create a new agreement.
Digital services report royalties to us each month, usually for a period of sales/streams a few months earlier. Each time a report is uploaded, we’ll email you to let you know. The email will detail the period in which the royalties were generated, and which digital music service they were generated on (read more on this here). You can log in to your EmuBands account, and head to the ‘Royalties’ tab, to check if you are due any royalties from those reports. If you are due any royalties, you can request a payment from us very easily, by clicking the green ‘Request a Royalty Payment’ button within the Royalties section of your account.
At present, all of our royalties are reported in GBP, but we’re able to pay you wherever you are based in the world, and we give you a number of options to receive payment:
1. UK Bank Transfer (UK Bank Accounts Only)
This option typically takes 2-3 business days to reach your bank account after we make payment. We charge a £1 admin fee for this type of payment, but there are no other fees attached to this, so if you’re based in the UK, or have a UK Bank account, then this may be the best option for you.
2. International Bank Transfer
If you’re based elsewhere than the UK, we can still pay directly to your own bank account. We send the amount in GBP, and use Wise (formerly Transferwise), a low-cost, international money transfer system, to ensure you receive the money in your home currency at a more favourable rate than a traditional bank transfer. EmuBands doesn’t directly charge any fees for this service, however it is worth noting that Wise will deduct their fees from the amount we send to you. By using Wise, we’re able to get the money to you quicker than a traditional transfer, at a fraction of the cost. Read more about Transferwise, and their fees here – https://www.wise.com/
Using this method, the royalties will usually reach your PayPal account immediately after we make payment. EmuBands doesn’t directly charge any fees for this service, however it is worth noting that PayPal will deduct their fees from the amount we send to you.
