  4. How do I stop someone using my Sound Recording in their YouTube videos?

In order to stop someone using your Sound Recording in their own YouTube videos, you should first ensure that you have an EmuBands Pro subscription, as you will be able to register your releases with Content ID. If you have an EmuBands Basic or Plus subscription, you can upgrade your account’s plan via the ‘Subscription’ section of your EmuBands account.

You can set the monetization policy of ‘Block’ for any sound recordings you do not wish to be used in other people’s YouTube videos. After you instruct us to apply a policy, EmuBands will upload your Sound Recording to YouTube’s Content ID system, and communicate your chosen policy to YouTube (in this case, ‘Block’). Content ID will scan YouTube’s library of user uploaded videos for any usages of your sound recording, and apply the chosen policy. If the chosen policy is ‘Block’, this will disable the video from being playable on YouTube.
