  4. Content Mismatch Reporting on Spotify

Spotify has announced a new update to Spotify for Artists (S4A) that makes it easier to flag and resolve release-mapping issues before your music goes live.

From October 2025 onwards, artists can now access a new “Report incorrect release” option in the Upcoming Releases tab in S4A Web, part of Spotify’s broader investment in strengthening content-mismatch protections (Spotify Newsroom, Sept 2025).

What’s changing?

Spotify is rolling out a new way for artists and teams to report mismatched or incorrectly mapped releases earlier in the release cycle.

When you view your upcoming releases in Spotify for ArtistsMusicUpcoming, you’ll now be able to launch the Content Mismatch Form directly from within your dashboard, with the album URI automatically pre-filled.

How to report an incorrect upcoming release

1. Go to “Upcoming”

Log into Spotify for Artists on web and open the MusicUpcoming tab to view any scheduled releases linked to your artist profile.

2. Click the context menu (…)
Next to the release in question, select “Report incorrect release.”

3. Form launches automatically

This opens the Content Relocation Form with the album URI pre-filled for you.
You can also search for other upcoming releases by name or URI (the search is scoped to your artist profile).

4. Complete & submit

Add any relevant details and submit the form. You’ll receive an email confirmation once it’s been received by Spotify.

Spotify describes this as “the latest step in our continued investment into improving the content-mismatch reporting process, with more enhancements ahead as we work across the industry to address these vulnerabilities.”
