How Long Does Music Distribution Take?
If you’re wondering how long it takes to release music, the timeline depends on two main factors. First, it depends on how quickly EmuBands processes your release. Second, it depends on how long each digital service takes to make your music live.
Once we receive your audio files, artwork, and payment, EmuBands can usually process and distribute your release within one business day.
After distribution, each digital service needs extra time to process your release. Processing times vary by platform.
How Long Do DSPs Take to Process a Release?
- Apple Music and iTunes: Usually process releases within 24 hours
- Most DSPs: Typically take 48 – 72 hours
How Early Should I Upload My Release to Spotify?
Spotify recommends delivering new releases at least 5 business days before the release date. This helps ensure your music is processed correctly and appears on Spotify as planned. For updates or takedowns, Spotify recommends allowing two business days.
We recommend adding your release to our system at least 1 week before your release date.
